Japan’s weakness is always their physique. They looked very exhausted at the start already probably because of their previous game on Wednesday night( I believe this is not the best Japan we’ve seen) The key for Matildas is to shut down both Yui Hasagawa and Hinata Miyazawa which we did a great job and the entire Japanese attack has been shutdown. The Matildas was very energetic and was able to keep applying pressure on their midfield. So we can see that in the second half Japan couldn’t even have many opportunities. We really tested their defence and definitely we were the biggest challenge to Japan in this AFC tournament. I also think the Matildas needs to really learn from Japan’s coordinations and pace making. They are quick, sharp and everyone is playing Tika-Taka not just relying on physical battles.
