■第54回世界体操競技選手権（日本時間22日、オランダ・ロッテルダム）
女子団体総合決勝が行われ、日本は4種目合計164.063点で3位に入り、銅メダルを獲得した。世界選手権の女子団体でのメダルは1962年、66年に続く3回目で、66年以来60年ぶり。この結果、2028年ロサンゼルス五輪の団体出場枠も獲得した。
日本は杉原愛子（27）、岸里奈（19）、西山実沙（16）、中村遥香（18）、岡村真（21）の5人で出場。予選を5位で通過し、上位8チームによる決勝で順位を2つ上げた。
決勝は予選の得点を持ち越さず、跳馬、段違い平行棒、平均台、ゆかの4種目で各チーム3人の得点を合計して争われた。日本は2種目目のゆかで杉原が13.900点をマークして表彰台圏内に入ると、跳馬でも杉原が14.200点を出して順位を守り、最後の段違い平行棒を終えて3位を確保した。
