日本がマグニチュード9.9の地震警報を誤って発令🚨
マグニチュード9.9という地震警報は誤報だった。実際に発生した地震の規模は、ロシアのカムチャツカ半島付近を震源とするマグニチュード6.9だった。
10月16日12時40分、日本の緊急地震速報システムが地震の規模を過大に推定し、北海道から関東にかけての広い範囲で緊急警報が発令された。その後、警報は取り消された。
画像に表示されているのは、誤った当初の推定値であり、実際の地震の規模ではない。気象庁によると、北海道函館市で観測された揺れは震度1の弱いものにとどまり、日本への津波の危険もなかった。

( We had just boarded the Shinkansen in Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station when the alert on everybody’s smartphones went off. A few minutes later we got the second alert and the train departed on time… it felt weird, but nobody was worried at all 🤷‍♂️ )
