改造ホンダEK4シビックが格上BMW M2とニュルブルクリンクで競り合う動画に海外大感動「最後は頭文字D並に痺れた」
当ブログで何度も紹介している、視聴者から様々な車を借り受けニュルブルクリンク北コースをスポーツ走行している人気YouTuberのミーシャ（Misha Charoudin）さんの過去の映像をチェックしたところ、EK4シビック（1995年～2000年までのSIRグレード）の動画が一番印象的だったので今回紹介します。
動画の説明によると、エンジンをK20に換装するなどサーキット仕様とEK9風の改造を施し、馬力は230から240馬力、車重は1000kgほどとのことです。
パワー的にはかなり格上のBMW M2と最後はまさかの結果になり、海外から多くのコメントが寄せられていました。

ラップ後半、M2に追いついていくところから、ミーシャが本気で「走り始めた」感じがして鳥肌立ったよ！ 最高の動画だし、クルマもオーナーも素晴らしい。

M2とバトルしてた時のオーナーの表情が最高だったね！ 本当に楽しんでるのが伝わってきた！ 運転してめちゃくちゃ気持ち良さそうだし、セットアップも完璧に決まっている！

┗ 本当に壮観なラップだったけど、M2がガス欠でもしてない限り、あの場面では明らかにM2は踏んでなかったと思う。あそこは多くの人がクールダウンに入ってピットに戻る直前の区間だし。
あの高速右コーナーはM2がシビックに対して最大のアドバンテージを持ってる区間だから、あれで本気のM2に勝ったとは考えにくい。
とはいえ、ミーシャのラップがとんでもなく凄かったのは間違いないね ❤
That was a truly spectacular lap, but unless the M2 ran out of fuel, the M2 was clearly off the power at that point which is actually the end where most people let the car cool before bringing it in. That fast right hander is where the M2 has the biggest advantage over the Civic, so there's no chance he beat the M2. Absolutely amazing lap by Misha though ❤

ただし最終区間は完全にドライビング勝負で、コーナーではEKがM2に迫っていた。
ガチで並べてレースしたらM2が勝つだろうけど、それでもこの動画は見応え十分。
最後に追い抜かれた場面で「M2は本気じゃなかった」とは言えないと思う。
