考えてみれば、彼がカブスにいるのは、カブスがオプションを行使しなかったのに、本人がオプションを行使して残ったからだ。もしFAに出て他球団と契約してたらカブスは大惨事だっただろうし、今ごろ興味を示さなかった多くのチームは後悔してるだろうね。
( And to think he is only with the team because he exercised his option when the Cubs didn’t. Would have been a disaster if he had gone free agency and signed elsewhere. Must be a lot of teams wishing they had shown interest. )
